Thank you! I really appreciate your support. It’s very early days for me and Substack so every bit of encouragement and re-stacking means the world 🌿

What a beautifully written and inspiring challenge, Molly! I love how you’ve made self-care approachable and joyful by focusing on small, daily acts of kindness toward yourself. That shift from overthinking and guilt to curiosity and playfulness is so powerful, and exactly what many people need to hear right now. Thank you for encouraging us all to prioritize our own needs with compassion and fun. Looking forward to seeing how this challenge grows and helps others reconnect with what truly pleases them.

As a recovering people pleaser, what a delightful idea. Going to carry this through my week

So pleased to hear it! Thanks for your encouragement. I’m quite new to Substack and finding my feed, so all engagement and exposure is hugely appreciated. Thanks Morgan!

Love this Moll such a fun and honest insight. Out of little things big things grow (is that a quote?) in more ways than one! I can’t wait to see where you go next xxx

Thanks Loups!! I’m not quite sure what’s next… I have some big ideas that will take time, some medium ideas that will also take time… but I think I need some smaller ideas just to keep up the momentum, and keep things moving! Xxx

Inspired! I posted my first post today and although a bit poorly today managed to sew some gorgeous bunting for my sisters potting shed! (I am in my fifties after all) Thank you and long may your journey continue with finding something every single day. What a great Mantra

Love this! Small uplifts balance out the hard stuff and feed the soul. That’s the essence of self-care.

Why does the colleague and lunch situation sound word for word like me 😂 I feel like I honestly don’t mind. But it’s more that I don’t want them to mind if I pick something they don’t want. To suggest a preference would mean it could be rejected.

Wow, thanks for that. A nice little reflection it’s sparked!

Great writing ☺️

Exactly Imogen! Well observed. It’s a small thing in reality but it feels like a good window of insight in to subservient behaviours which, added up, results in a diminished sense of self. Choose your own lunch I say! 😂 you don’t even have to have the same as the colleague…!

The way you described people-pleasing, not as kindness, but as displacing yourself, that landed. I felt so seen.

I’ve been exactly in that space where even choosing what I want feels like too much, or like it’ll cost too much (emotionally, not just financially).

And the way you turned it around with that tiny daily question is genius! Simple, but not easy, and that’s what makes it powerful.

I loved reading this, it felt like a kind, funny hug with a serious message underneath.

Thank you for sharing it. I’m definitely stealing the “one thing I can do for myself today” question.

That’s brilliant Maya, I’m so pleased to hear it! Please keep in touch and let me know how you get on? I’ve actually continued the practise as I found it so transformative. I’m posting a daily intention and it really helps me focus my day, as well as offering me an opportunity to feel accomplishment and satisfaction when I can recognise I’ve done what I set out to do.

What a fabulous idea! I am off this week from work. I'm planning things... but I think I will start each day with that same question.

I love the idea of creating small, achievable moments of joy for yourself each day, and how in just a short amount of time it shifted your mindset too. I hope you continue it! ☺️
