A little bit about me

Hello, I’m Molly.

If I was going to describe myself in three words, I’d choose unique, cheeky, and thoughtful. But I won’t, because nobody likes doing that.

I have always pursued a creative and varied life.

In my work as a television producer, I’ve match-made singles, helped families navigate bereavement, interviewed a bank robber, been interrogated by a “truth wizard”, worn a stab vest, secured exclusives, travelled the world, and met people from all walks of life.

As a trainee psychotherapist, I volunteer for a crisis support line as I continue to expand my knowledge of the human condition.

I write non-fiction. Though I think there’s some fiction in me yet.

One of my favourite words is enchanté. How charming, indeed. Not so useful in the non-fiction space. Although… let’s see.

I love to walk in the woods when it’s hot, so my dog can run at full pelt without overheating.

I’m having a lemon moment. I have decorated my kitchen with the most joyful lemon-y wallpaper, complete with pastel yellow table and green sash windows. I’m not doing it justice; it’s delightful.

I re-watch old reality shows when I crochet. I think this might just be the ultimate comfort. It doesn’t happen often enough.

I will learn to speak French.

My outlook on life is shifting and I’m finding more joy in the details; I’ve been learning to slow down and mindfully enjoy the minutiae.

I am writing because I have ideas and I think they’re worth exploring.

I plan to post weekly because routine and structure work for me and posting publicly gives me some sense of accountability, an enforceable deadline. But I do find it hard not to get sucked in to the games of platforms and I don’t want this to de-rail my progress or my plans.

My metric of success needs to not be how many people subscribe or follow me, but the regularity of my posting.

I’d love my writing to reach some people along the way, and I’d love even more to connect with like-minded folk on the platform. But I can’t make it my raison d’écrire.

Living Intentionally

I write about happiness. I set myself personal challenges (assignments, as I like to think of them… so I can channel my inner Andie Anderson), I explore therapeutic theory and dissect concepts.
